2024 NFHS Softball Committee Welcomes New Members

Kerrie Rosati – Section 4: Kerrie Rosati joined the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) as an Assistant Commissioner in 2015. Rosati is responsible for softball, boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving, and volleyball. Additionally, her duties entail organizing the IHSAA Student Advisory Committee and the IHSAA Student Leadership Conference. Rosati served three years as director of athletics at Boone Grove in northwest Indiana. There, she provided administrative direction and oversight to all athletic programs for grades 6-12. Prior to that she worked two years as athletic director at Marquette Catholic High School in Michigan City and taught physical education at St. Stanislaus Catholic School. Rosati played softball at Marian University, graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in Sports Management in 2007. Kerrie later earned an M.S. degree in Sports Administration from Valparaiso University in 2009. Rosati and her husband, Philip, currently reside in Westfield, Indiana. Rosati’s four-year term on the NFHS Softball Rules Committee ends in 2027.

Monica Maxwell– Section 8: Monica Maxwell is in her second year as an Assistant Executive Director with the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) after an 11-year career as an Athletic Administrator, spending seven years at her alma mater, East Chicago Central High School, in Northwest Indiana and four years as an athletic administrator in the Indianapolis area. A 1999 graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Maxwell earned her bachelor’s degree in computer information systems and went on to earn master’s degrees in physical education/athletic administration from Indiana University, in addition to earning her master’s in business administration (MBA) from the University of Dayton. Monica’s four-year term on the NFHS Softball Rules Committee ends in 2027.

Tonia Burk– Section 8: Tonia, an Idaho native knew at an early age that she wanted to be a teacher and coach. Burk attended Eastern Oregon University where she participated in both softball and basketball and earned her teaching certificate. Tonia taught and coached for 21 years at both the middle and high school levels. Burk currently teaches spinning and cardio fitness classes and is the head softball and cross-country coach at Twin Falls High School in southern Idaho. She is serving her second term on the Idaho High School Activities Association Board of Directors as the Girls Coaches Representative. In Tonia’s free time she is out with her two chocolate labs, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, camping or enjoying any other outdoor recreational activity. Tonia’s four-year term on the NFHS Softball Rules Committee ends in 2027.

Jenee James– NFHS Coaches Association: Prior to Jenee James joining the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) as Assistant Executive Director, James served as an athletic administrator at both the secondary and post-secondary level, most recently serving as the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. Previously, James served as Director of Athletics and Activities at Mount Rainier High School and Clover Park High School. James played three intercollegiate sports sparking her passion for athletics and spearheading a career in secondary education as a coach, teacher, and administrator. As an Assistant Executive Director for the WIAA, James is responsible for Eligibility, Coaches Education, and Special Programs. James has over 15 years of athletic administration experience and has coached basketball at the high school and collegiate level as well as softball.  James is looking forward to serving on both the Education Committee and Softball Rules Committee, representing the WIAA, NFHS Coaches Association, and Section 8.  James is completing a four-year term for a former NFHS Softball Committee member which ends in 2025.
