In a first-round playoff game this May, San Bernardino (California) Aquinas High School senior Zoe Casas went 3 for 4 from the plate, raising her career hit total to 247, a new California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) state record. After her final two games, Casas now has 251 career hits, placing her in the National High School Sports Record Book tied for 14th place. Along with her incredible .682 career batting average, Casas was a perfect 74-for-74 on stolen bases and walked just 26 times in her career.
Even more amazing, Entering what would be her last high school softball game, Casas had only struck out twice in four years. Although that number would increase to three in the Falcons’ CIF state tournament quarterfinal loss, the Florida State commit will leave San Bernardino as one of the best softball players in California high school history.
