The NFHS is proud to name Carol Rainson-Rose of Northport High School in Northport, New York as the 2018-19 Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year!

Coach Rainson-Rose knows that her role as a physical educator and a coach is to shape tomorrow's leaders through sports. The NFHS is honored to name Coach Carol Rainson-Rose as 2018-19 NATIONAL Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year!

Coaching Highlights: Newsday All Long Island Coach of the Year (2019, 03-04), Suffolk Coach of The Year Class A (2018, 03, 06, 09), LIMLF Founders Cup Champions Best Team in Suffolk County (2006, 09, 11, 19), Suffolk County Champions-Northport High School (1996, 97, 98, 99, 02, 03, 04, 06, 08, 09, 11, 19), Long Island Champions/Regional Champions (1996, 97, 98, 99, 03, 04, 11, 19), NYS Finalists (1996, 98), and NYS Semi Finalists (1997, 03, 04).

Philosophy of Athletics

It is Coach Rainson-Rose's philosophy as a physical educator and coach to provide character building growth opportunities in an athletic setting while fostering skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and good decision-making skills. So many life lessons can be learned through sports participation that young people can carry with them the rest of their lives. She believes that every child is a unique individual with unlimited potential and the ability to succeed and thrive through athletic participation.
