The inaugural NFHS Network Broadcast Academy was held in Atlanta this past weekend and was a huge success! You can see the whole weekend in two minutes here.

Students and media broadcast teachers from 21 states spent the weekend in Atlanta with the NFHS Network team. In addition, state association personnel Sherry Bryant (MIAA), J.A. Colasanti and Seth Polansky (FHSAA), and NFHS Chief Operating Officer Davis Whitfield were in town to witness it all first hand.

Friday, students and teachers attended the Braves-Cubs game at Turner Field, were treated to a VIP behind-the-scenes tour of the television broadcast, and had a pre-game sit-down with Braves Broadcaster Chip Caray. Saturday was a hands-on day full of workshops around live event productions, studio shows, editing and creating original features.

The academy lineup was filled with amazing speakers. ESPN SportsCenter anchor Chris Cotter, Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin, and ESPN/ ABC Broadcaster Brad Nessler shared their career stories and insights of the sports media industry. After each presentation and Q&A session, they all spent time meeting all of the students and teachers individually.
