Philosophy of Athletics
Accountability. Nothing matters without accountability. Student athletes must be accountable to themselves, first and foremost. They should perform at a level in and out of the classroom that makes them the most valuable student and teammate they can possible be. They must be accountable to their teammates and have enough respect for them to push themselves beyond what they ever thought possible, in service of their own goals and the team's. Everything else stems from that sense of accountability: performance, winning, sportsmanship, etc. All mean nothing without accountability. It's all just luck without accountability.
