Philosophy of Athletics
James has enjoyed working with student athletes throughout his teaching and coaching career both at North Platte High as well as at Lanark High School in Illinois. He firmly believes that extracurricular activities assist in molding a well rounded student/athlete that is ready to face the world when they graduate from high school. While teaching and coaching, he has tried his level best to help students reach their individual potential in both the classroom and on the golf course, court, or field. Athletics provides the opportunity to expand the learning outside the classroom and to teach principles of character, honesty, and teamwork for kids that are forming into the adults of tomorrow. He considers himself blessed to have had the opportunity to influence the lives of hundreds of those students both in the classroom and in extracurricular athletics.
