The NFHS is proud to name Lee Sternberg of East Canton High School in East Canton, Ohio as the 2017-18 Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year!

After being named Conference Coach of the Year 20 times (going back to 1983) and Stark County Coach of the Year 10 times (starting in 1982), the NFHS is excited to name Coach Lee Sternberg as our 2017-18 Boys Cross Country NATIONAL Coach of the Year! Way to go Coach Sternberg!

Philosophy of Athletics

Coach Sternberg believes that coaches should treat each individual as an equal regardless of their ability. He strives to have all athletes reach their potential and instill confidence in all athletes that they can do anything they set their mind to. His focus is on being accountable, being responsible and doing what you say you will do, cultivating leaders that will continue to be productive members of society, working extremely hard to reach goals, and being a great teammate.
