South Carolina's District 7 is aiming to be a frontrunner in coach education. Beginning January 1, the district will require all head, assistant and volunteer coaches to complete NFHS Coach Education courses to become Accredited Interscholastic Coaches.
“We want to make sure all of our coaches have the tools to be effective coaches and that's everything from how to communicate with parents, how do you work with children, what are our philosophies, what's our mission when it comes to athletics, and most especially what are the best practices for safety. It's really important to have everyone on the same page as it relates to our athletic programs,” said Superintendent Russell Booker.
