NFHS rules writing committees consist of experts in the given sport.  Each committee member is nominated by state associations, as is the chairperson, who guides the members through their work.  Each of the NFHS’s eight sections are represented on the given rules committee.  To allow for equal representation, there is also a member of the NFHS Coaches Association and the NFHS Officials Association on each rules committee.  Each committee member serves a four-year term.

The NFHS is pleased to welcome three new members of the Track and Field Rules Committee: Cody Inglis, Jenn Roberts-Uhlig and Scott Smith.

Cody Inglis, Section 4, was named an Assistant Director with the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) in January of 2014 after serving 20 years as a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal and principal at Suttons Bay High School (1995-2007) and at Traverse City Central High School (2007-2014).  While at Suttons Bay, Inglis coached both boys and girls cross country and track and field for 13 years.  As the head coach, Inglis successfully guided his programs to Conference, Regional and State-Runner-up finishes and coached over 25 All-State athletes and 3 state champions in track and field.  At the MHSAA, Inglis has direct responsibility for cross country, ice hockey, bowling, golf and Junior High/Middle Schools.  He also assists in track and field, alpine ski, wrestling and is involved in both the administration and instructing of the MHSAA Coaches Advancement Program.   Inglis also competed in high school (Portage Northern, MI) and college (Hope College) cross country and track and field, earning Academic All-America honors and serving as captain in both sports.  A native of Pembroke, Ontario, Canada, Inglis is married to wife Carrie and together they have three sons, Reid (11), Nolan (8) and Ty (5).  They reside in DeWitt, Michigan.

Jenn Roberts-Uhlig, Section 6, the former Sheridan High School athletic director and assistant principal, took over as Assistant Commissioner with the Colorado High School Activities Association in 2012.  Her duties with the CHSAA includecross country, spirit, track and field, Corporate Relations, Recognition Programs, Academic Team/All-State, Sports Medicine, Junior High/Middle Schools, New Athletic Directors Meeting, Merchandise Sales, in addition to a number of outside activities such as work with the Sportswomen of Colorado. She also headed the SHS student leadership program.  Her committee work for the Frontier League and the CHSAA is extensive and includes serving as the chair of the girls basketball and spirit committees, organizing the first Frontier League spirit competition and serving on the CHSAA Softball and Basketball Seeding Committees. She has been a member of the Colorado High School Coaches Association and the Colorado Athletics Directors Association since 2008.  Roberts is a 1997 graduate of Sheridan High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in 2006 from Metropolitan State College and picked up her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in 2009. Roberts-Uhlig is married to Kevin Uhlig and they have two children Madison, 11, and Brady, 7.
