SITUATION 1: Prior to the first set, the first referee directs all players to their respective end lines for prematch announcements. Both teams send out their entire rosters. RULING: Legal. COMMENT: Unless state associations determine otherwise, teams may allow all rostered players to join the starting players on the end line for prematch announcements. [5-4-3c(1)]

SITUATION 2: Prior to the first set, the first referee directs all players to their respective end lines for prematch announcements. Team A sends out only its starting players and Team B sends out all its rostered players. RULING: Legal. COMMENT: Unless state associations determine otherwise, teams may choose to send out all their rostered players to participate in prematch announcements or only their starting players. [5-4-3c(1)]
